Greetings, life-forms! In order to fully use the Groups system, I would love to see members blogging here--so I thought, hmm, what do members like to talk about best? Fan fic, of course! So I'm going to do a sort of feature--each member, let me know you want to do this and I'll give you "contributor" status, so that you can post your own blog with a little blurb about yourself and your writing, as well as five or so fanfics from around the internet that you consider the best work you've ever come across. If they're on dA, suggest we add them to the club favourites!

Fanfic spotlight #1: Nemonus

I like action/adventure stories and character-driven ones that show a connection that I never noticed in the movies but was lurking there all along. I write about Darth Maul, sundry Jedi, the occasional obscure Anzati, and Darth Maul some more. "Savour" should so be spelled like that.

Never Going Back Again: The series of vignettes about Masters and Padawans that inspired my own "Duality" stories simply because I didn't want it to end. Expect everything from funny interactions to dark revelations about everyone from Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to Ventress and Ky Narec. [link]

The Chance of a Lifetime: This perhaps tipped me in the ExileSion direction, not only showing some awesome characterization of Atton and Mical, but...the scariest twist ending evar, with a powerful Exile who...chose exactly what she wanted. Fantastic prose too. [link]

Blood: Another KotOR fic, this one intrigued me immediately with its premise--a teenage girl from Dantooine receives a blood transfusion from a Jedi and becomes temporarily Force-sensitive. But a mind not meant for that may not be able to handle it. My one complaint, if it can be even called that, about this fic is that it goes from a light and wish-fulfilling journal of a girl inducted into a Jedi Enclave and ecstatic about it, to the dark tale of someone descending into madness. Requiem Aeternam: The only one of Mathematica's fics in my favourites list, but trust me, they're all amazing. If you're looking for Han & Leia, Anakin & Padme, or any number of single sentences that make you go "Whoah", this is the place. This particular story is about Order 66 and the death of Ahsoka, and delves deep into the characterization of both her and Anakin. [link]

You and I: An incredibly unique point of view--a nexu trapped inside a cell with a human prisoner. The author really creates a voice for this creature, as well as demonstrates masterful use of second person. [link]
